The Eight Best Practices of Task and E-mail Management

Written by: Michael Linenberger

Our Human Resource department gave a presentation to staff about this book and its management process about two years ago. I was the consummate list maker until I embraced the practices outlined in Linenberger’s book. Now my Outlook inbox rarely contains more than 20 e-mail message with the rest neatly filed for future reference, used to create action tasks, or just plain deleted (yes—beat those horrors of pressing delete!). Learning to convert e-mail to action-oriented tasks was a revelation, enabling me to become more productive. I also learned to configure my Outlook calendar so my daily task list is visible, a key element of my improved productivity. If you’re buried in e-mail and your lists have lists, this is the book for you.
